Pupils in Years 2 to 7 were given the opportunity to take part in the World of Maths challenge workshops. Split into groups, the children worked to solve various day-to-day problems, including ski races, finding the shortest routes for Santa to get to the houses and building chairs. The event was organised by Jane Ashfold, head of maths, to offer the opportunity to enhance the pupils’ awareness of maths in their lives and to further their thinking and teamwork skills.
