It's carnival time at school

A BRAZILIAN carnival came to a Weybridge school as a culmination of its Global Awareness Week events.

Children in Year 3 at Cleves School enjoyed a day-long carnival after studying South America.

Each year group in the school studied a different area of the world — Year 4, China; Year 5, Australia; and Year 6, Africa.

Headteacher Sue Croft said: “It is important for children to have knowledge of the cultures and customs of other areas of the world and to be aware of the issues that  surround them.

“We are all global citizens now.”
